by andy_loo about Orchardz Hotel
I stayed in Orchardz Hotel Pontianak on the 27th of jan 09 for two nite and was very pleased with the services of the staffs as well as the cleanliness of the hotel rooms. Would recommend to business or leisure traveller that travel to pontianak, indonesia. Special thanks to the Receptionist who upgrade my standard room to deluxe room. Two thumbs up ! - Free wifi in the rooms , lobby and cafe of the hotel.
- Royal Spa - have try the traditional massage, cheap and good, with sauna and steam facilities.
- Good strategic location
- have non smoking rooms

Singapore To Pontianak
by chongfookchoy
I have a friend working in Pontianak and I am planning a visit there. It seems quite a complex job getting from Singapore to Pontianak; there being no dirct air links between the two places. That at least is what I gather from my net search so far.
Any advise on a good way of getting to Pontianak from Singapore will be much appreciated.
Thanks a lot

Thanks Happy for your suggestion of Singapore > Jakarta > Pontianak. I guess that will get me there but is there a shorter and therefore cheaper route? Is there a Singapore > Batam > Pontianak route or a Singapore > Kuching > Pontianak route? Ayone who knows anyone who might do the Singapore to Pontianak route regularly and has some inside tips?
Thanks

hi
You can fly to Kuching by Air Asia ( via Johor Bahru ). From Kuching, you can take a 8-hour bus drive to Pontianak. Buses leave Kuching every day at different times.
There is a bus company that offers a package also. It is a 3 day and 2 night stay in Pontianak with hotel accomodation. Reasonably priced. I have never been to Pontianak myself.
If you need more information, I am happy to find out for you.
Bon voyage!
