Budget Bliss: Rumah Kundun
This was quite simply one of the most memorable places we stayed on our 14 month RTW trip in 2009/2010. It wasn’t especially luxurious or unique but our hostess Kade and her wonderfully accommodating and pleasant disposition made our stay here so comfortable. She has taken great pride in building and decorating her four gorgeous rooms located in well kept garden of her family home. Rumah Kundun’s four rooms have been lovingly decorated in a bright, fresh manner with the personal touch that us often lacking in budget accommodation. Each room has a private en-suite (cold water only – the norm on the islands) and a terrace with hammocks and seating. A simple but tasty breakfast is included (eggs, pancakes, fruit, tea/coffee) and is brought to your room every morning. And the best thing about Rumah Kundun, apart from Kade herself, is the ridiculously low price...$4 a night per person sharing!!! Best accommodation bargain ever

Bali Kana Retreat: Nice retreat in Gili Trawangan
This is a place we stay in Gili Trawangan. It was directly in front of the neach but situated quite far from the crowd and the jetty. It can take 30 minutes walking from the jetty and 15 minutes walking from the swimming beach (The swimming beach was near of Almarik Hotel) Nevertheless we actually chose the place because of the secludedness and the children-free promise. Strictly grown ups policy. We were staying in the graden bungalow with aircon facing the sea. We' prefer the upstair one which was a loft, lumbung like and has a sort of balcony but it doesn't have aircon and I just can't live without aircon. View-wise the place is excellent... we can see the nice sunset from out hotel. The food is great - nice free breakfast. Had dinner under the star one night in of the Bale facing the sea - had a grilled red snapper, so yummie (me who don't usually like fish, managed to finish one by myself). The owner is a balinese and a Canadian. The Lady is soooo nice, chatty and helpful. She is ensuring that all her guests are enjoying their time. There is a good snorkeling spot just in front of the hotel. Last time we came they were building a swimming pool (i think it's done by now) and installing a hot water thing for the hot shower.

Ray Hotel: Sengigi cheap stay
Ray Hotel is actually a basic motel... there is no TV in the room..just a basic motel with fan or AC, bed but attached bathroom. The price is basic too!
Nervertheless, if u take the AC room, you will get free pancake breakfast and coffee or tea. To go to the sengigi beach from Ray, u have to cross the road and walk thru a small lane beside Lina Hotel.
The staff is nice and accomodating with beautiful landscape around the compound.
I am recommending this hotel but according to my personal opinion, it is a better deal to stay at Lina Hotel just across the road to be your staying place in Sengigi. Lina's room facing the sea with cheaper rate than Ray's.
Lina is also the point where you can take private boat to the Gilis islands.
Ray have room on top of the hill, and from top of the hill you can have a good command view to one part of sengigi beach.

MimpiManis: Lomboks best beaches
Mimpimanis has established itself as a clean, friendly, local Balinese/english owned homestay in Kuta at the southern end of Lombok.
We enjoyed our stay here with Gemma and Made, being shown the local sites and beaches. Made runs a very popular fishing trip in a local boat, the catch being cooked for you to enjoy afterwards !
The accommodation is in the family compound consisting of two units and a house with breakfast included. Motor bikes and push bikes for hire. 10 mins from the ocean
As i mentioned the fishing trip is well worth going on.
The beaches in Kuta are wonderful, good for swimming, surfing or relaxing. There are plenty of cheap warungs and restaurants to choose from in Kuta

Gili Villas (Gili Trawangan): Nicest island I have been to
This is a private villa, lovely to the core with heated pool and 2 bedrooms to accommodate 4. Owner will charge lower if only 2 persons using the lodging. Beautifully furnished and though they do not have in-house dining, staff will be able to assist with take-aways from any restaurants on the island. A fabulous place to stay. Try out their accompany dive center MANTA DIVE too. One of the best dive centers I have been to.
Cleanliness, beautiful decos, heated pool, excellent ambience.

Easy Bungalows: Reasonable Priced
Located a bit north
on the eastern side of the island,
is Easy Bungalows, facing the sea.
Their prices are still reasonable,
(at the time of my visit),
but the fact that there is no a/c
could also have a factor
at keeping their rates down.
Rooms are clean and simple.
A fan is provided in the room
and windows are large.
Bathrooms are also ample and open air,
but no hot or fresh water here.
Rooms do not have any extra amenities,
but they are clean.
The price at the time of my visit
was 250,000 Rp a night.

i had a very very pleasant sty there, from there wehere the boat enters the "harbour" just turn right and take a horsecar or walk (depens on wheter you come from rinjani or not) the 500meters. on the left hand the hotels are either ugly or nice but expensive (old people should go to the left therefor, backpakers better right).
sunrise bungalows has four nice bungalows in the backyard. the baech is just over the street.

Santai Guesthouses: Close to Sengigi...
Great place to relax away from the noise of Sengigi. Good atmosphere & rooms, very social (everyone must eat at the same table) and very reasonable.

Sonya Homestay: Little homestay
ermm, not the very best but at least it is cheaper. Bargaining is a must. paid for about Rp2,500 for a room with double bed and bathroom inside. But, dont expect that you could get better than Intan Lombok Village for that price. heheh
The picture captured is the travel agent office where the homestay is located in the backside.

Hotel Bola Bola Paradis: Far from the crowd
We discovered this small but neat hotel while driving along the road west from Lembar harbour, which leads all the way to Bangko Bangko on the western tip of Lombok. Our 2003 edition of the Lonely Planet guide mentions only one hotel along this road, but that information is out of date. There are many new developments.
Bola Bola Paradis has been here since 2000, is owned by a Dutch couple and managed by their caretaker, mr. Made Suarma.
The hotel lies at a quiet beach with a view of Gili Gede. A place to enjoy the quietude and make boat trips to Gili Gede or some other island.
We happened to stay here New Year's Eve 2008, there was a Jogget dance performance by the Sasak community next door and a small party with campfire at the hotel.
The rooms have an original design and a definite Dutch flavour. The 'blue rooms' go for Rp 225,000 double occupancy and the 'yellow rooms' for Rp 350,000 (incl. tax excl. breakfast); we found this good value for money.
There is no restaurant in the neighbourhood, so you have to rely on the hotel kitchen. They offer an varied menu for such a remote place, but prices are above the level at Mataram. Have your meals in the gazebo at the water's edge.
