Hi, im planning on going to one or 2 of the gili's at the end of my month long holiday in indonesia. can anyone recommend the best island/s to stay, having only 3 nights. we will be 2 19-20 year old girls but arent particularly interested in the party scene. also any advice on the good accommodation at the islands would be helpful. thank you :)
have only been to Tawangan and Meno. Trawangan had a lot people and a nice athmosphere. Meno was peace and quiet. They are 5 min away from each other and probably easy to get someone to drive you from one island to another so you can see for yourself. Lombok is great.

Keep in mind that during high season, Trawangan is sometimes fully booked, but you will allways find something on Meno.
Meno recomodation:
Blue reef cottages. Bungalows with air-con for just 200000 rupies.
You also have Reefs with perfect snorkling just outsid your door.
Usually it's easier to find the famous big sea-turtles on Meno. They can often be seen at 15-20 meters dept, but they are really big so you can easily see them from the surfac with snorkling gear.
Have a nice trip. Lombok is great!

If you can’t seem to

to make those urgent or social calls.
If not,
Flexi hand phones are out of range
for making calls from here.
Mentari sim cards do not work either.
The only local sim card that works is Telkomsel.
You can buy recharges,
but not an actual sim card on the island.
Slow internet access is available in several places.
Smoke signals may work depending on the wind.
Not really a sports tip, I agree....
have a massage on the beach. Those Lombok women have fantastic hands. I loved the smell of the frangipany massage oil, the sound of the waves, the warm breeze..... Relax and after an hour you feel reborn. This is my everyday view after a day of travelling around. A view on Mount Agung on Bali seen from Senggigi beach in Lombok. Isn't it marvelous ? Ahhhh ! I wish I were still there.....
Gili Air, Gili Meno and Trawangan Islands:
A short ride north of Senggigi, a cluster of tiny coral islands offer the perfect destination for snorkeling, scuba diving or picnics on pristine stretches of white sand beaches. Hire a boat to take you out to discover a magical marine world of blue coral, brightly coloured fish and delicate shells, Good dive locations.
If you don't mind having a bowl of noodles beef soup or seafood fried rice with ommelete along the street with locals around, you might want to give it a try or stop over for a hot meal. There are many foodstall along the street with many traditional indonesian food.
Food price range from 4000-8000 rupiah. Absolutely 'Mee Bakso' ( Beef ball noodles soup). Its my favourite signature dish in Indonesia
There are 3 islands next to Lombok, Gili Air, Gili Meno, and the biggest Gili Travangan. That is the Paradise!
If you are in Bali and you hate the stupid tourist, you have to go there! Kind people and beautiful beaches ans scuba diving!
In addition it is so cheap!

And the most important thing, it is uncredible, but Gili Travangan has a real Irish Pub and every night good parties!
