We've decided to stay in Sengiggi Lombok for a couples of nights before heading to the Island of Trawangan.
Hotel is superb , grand lobby with own private beach so no tout able to enter the premises at that point to hassle you .
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
On the other side along the coast to the left is the public beach offers better white sand and clear blue water than at the Sheraton. What a huge disspointment! Probably the management prefer guest using their pool facilities.
The buffet breakfast was alright. Plenty of choices but standard are the same as what I could get with 4 star hotel in Singapore.
We had our seafood dinner at the hotel on the beach on our first night . It was very experience.
I would also recomend to dine outside and explore elsewhere for varieties.
There is an art market next to the hotel.. too bad at the time we were there it was extremly quiet.We bought a couple of wood work for souveniors which was still expensive as we had to bargin real hard.
I reallly dont understand these people. Why do they have to tag the price so high for tourist when time is really bad? The room was ok a bit damp due to the aircon.For a 5 star hotel we really felt that service was mediocre.
If you have the time, go out to the main road and up the hill for a good view of sunset with the locals. We found a beautiful huge resort build at the top of the hill . Due to Bali Bombing and tourism crisis it was abandoned.What a waste!

From Selaparang airport, Lembar Ferryport, or capital city Mataram, metered Taxi is a convenience, it was recommended to use Blue Birds network taxi, LOMBOK TAXI, they are good in service, from airport or Mataram. The taxi standby 24 hours by phone call, just ask your hotel front desk if you need taxi to go somwhere or a place or to airport
Lombok is one of tourist destination of domestic and foreigner by it was not so crowded than Bali. There are so many travel agent in Bali or capital city Jakarta ,offering you their package tour vith reasonable price. In Jakarta you can choice; Ramantha travel agent: www.ramntha.com. or www.panorama.com, or www.smailingtour.com and there are much more, with competitive package tour price.

Hi guys, posted this on the Bali Forum didnt realise there was a Lombok one as well, just wondering if anyone has stayed at the Sheraton Senggigi, Lombok and if so any comments on it and also if it is anywhere near local restaurants and shopping.

I've stayed in Intan Lombok resort which is nearby to Sheraton Senggigi
There are some stores & nice caffee right accross the street & nearby the area
If you want to try local restaurant try to enter "Ayam Bakar Taliwang & Pelecing Kakung" (Fried Chicken & Fried Vegetable with spicy taste)
For traditional market, you can go to Mataram city
Usually, people like to visit sasak village (native lombok), visit some islands such as gili trawangan, gili Meno & gili air
