Fine location!
We booked this hotel via Jakarta Tourist Office, where a very nice lady made arrangements for our tour to Borobodur, Prambanan, Yogyakarta. We stated our budget and had a tour and guide arranged for three nights (only). Since it was Idul Fitri, she had no difficulty finding accommodation, but finding a guide willing to show us around was not easy. The hotel which she selected was fine, I feel that we recieved a great room on the top floor with a balcony on both sides, from which we could take a view of the city life and hear it too.
The room was clean, not new though. An aircondition did barely work. It did not have constant hot water, but since it was tropical, cold water did not matter, though hot water would have been nice.
Many people recommend, that a selection of hotels should consider its location close or not close to a mosque. That is right, now I know why. Though Airlangga was not very close to a mosque, it was still audible. If you not plan to pray, you wish not to stay in a hotel immediatly next to a mosque, and this was not the case here too. However, the Imans calling, can certainly not really be avoided, it is like a Church's bell on a Sunday...and their calles and singsangs belonged to the unique atmosphere of the time we stayed in Yogya.
