ATM at Yogya airport
There are a few ATMS at the Yogya airport. Once you leave the customs area, go LEFT past the entrance to the departure area of the airport, and past all the restaurants. You'll find a few ATMS there.

Dear all,
I will arrive at Yogyakarta at about 6pm, and will i be able to rent a car with driver or normal taxi that evening for the next day sunrise tour to borobodor + Prambanam?
I've checked with 1 agency and is very expensive, and that's the reason why i m seeking for cheaper option.
thanks.
since the normal taxi is using a meter, it will be higher rather than rent a private car with a driver, in jogja there are a lot of car rental.
If you want rent a good car and good driver (sometimes they can speak English) try the golden bird limousine service. Its rate is higher compare to other car rental service, but the service is better.
Hi,
thanks for your reply. but will the car rental be open after 6pm?
Admittedly, it's been years since I've been to Yogya to visit Borobudor BUT you can join a group which would be much cheaper than hiring your own car/driver. Why not check with your hotel/guesthouse and then check at a couple other places to make sure you're getting a 'fair' price? They pick you up and drop you back off and it's all very easy.
Borobudur is about 1-2 hours drive out of city town, so U should hire a car or join daily tour - just book it when u're in town.
but Prambanan easy to go, just take Trans Jogja (public buses with good service) http://transjogja.net/rute/ (+/- 45 min from Marlioboro)
I think you might be better off catching the bus. It's pretty easy to do. Baring that, you ought to be able to work out something with a becak driver.

'PUSAT PENYELAMATAN SATWA JOGJA ,
is an animal rescue center near Jogya.
It is beautifull located , near slanting forrest.
You can't believe what people have in their homes.
A lot of sunbears , eagles , peacocks , crocodiles , parrots get confiscated and end up here...
You canhelp as well-
If you see a monkey near a house ,
or another illegal animal..
Write down the adres ,
take a picture ,
and send an E-mail in English to
ppsjogja@indo.net.id
They got the ambition to wipe away all the illegal trade in one year. Alreday 7 rescuecenters are build all over Java. Watch the news....worldwide they do confiscations.
(if you like to know more , just mail me)
The nice thing is that this center has got a lot of volunteers. They got the support from the people and the authorities.
Every important person plants a tree here near the center. As a symbol of their support.
Also the tenth sultan of Jogya is going to hand over his animals in some sort of a ceremony. The center gets a lot of puplicity... a good thing.
I was lucky to be able to stay here...
have also a look at my travellogues...the insect pictures are taken here as well.
Yes, that’s what they keep, no more though for now. They believe every child bring their own luckiness. And Javanese people here keep this phrase: mangan ora mangan ngumpul (means: to eat or not to eat, the most important is to be together). Doesn’t make sense eh? It is. But it is working for them. May be this is why people here still can survive even they got not much income (I can say too few) monthly.
Ratu Boko Heritage Site is located 3km to the south of the Prambanan temple complex. My travelmates and I were brought there after visiting Prambanan. The entrance fee was USD6 for student, USD10 for foreigner.
Majority of this site is still a mystery. High on a mountain side, the view of the Prambanan temple complex is spectacular. I should be able to see Mount Merapi if the weather is clear (or was I in the wrong direction?). The place is quiet and serene with a good view.
The place is said to be the oldest market in the city (built in 1925). Even though it was raining when we entered, the place was so warm, humid and crowded I didn't think it was conducive to shop here. Besides I could smell pickpockets here. So if you wish to buy and haggle but you want to do so under one roof, without wandering down the street, then this place is suitable for you. The first floor offers nothing but batik items. The second floor is where all other merchandise (western clothes, cellphones, electronics, etc.) are sold. No price here is fixed so haggle, haggle, haggle!
