The most impressive Hindu and Buddhist ruins...
We have stayed here for three nights, the room, staff and service were very good.
The front desk gave us very good suggestions on places to dine.
I'll recomend.
Unique Quality: They have a beautiful and huge swimming pool, very pleasants gardens and very good food.

Beautiful retreat from the city
I was very impressed with this hotel. 5 star through and through. The hotel is located 4 kilometers north of the city. It's not much a distance and you can get cabs easily through the staff near the entrance. Taxis are cheap and it take you about 10 to 15 mins to get into downtown Jogja. A lot of detail went into this hotel-from fountains, landscaping to creating mini temples on the grounds. It's all quite beautiful. Our room was fine. Basic Hyatt room. The bathroom was very nice with large shower and separate bathtub.
There is a large salt water swimming pool with water slides. I am sure great for the kids. The hotel/resort has a golf course- i am not a golfer so i didnt' really care for it-but if you are a golfer you would enjoy this hotel.
Highly recommended. Would definately stay here again. Also, if you book your driver/private car through travel agencies in town you can save a lot of money. The hyatt charges around 30-50% more. For instance, check out Kartika tours on jalan sosrowijayan no 10

Hip & Chic At The Hyatt
I didn't stay here, we came for lunch (great spread for the lunch buffet!) but I know a lot of people have a tough time deciding between the Sheraton Mustika and the Hyatt Regency in Yogyakarta.
I recommend that if you're with family, then you may want to pick the Sheraton Mustika, which has a more lived in feel and lots of activity on weekend mornings by the pool for the family etc... it's also very close to the airport (5 mins) and nearer to Prambanam temple and town than the Hyatt.
However, if you're more on a honeymoon, looking for peace and quiet in a hotel, you may want to go for the Hyatt Regency which has a posher more high-end feel and aura about it... it's also newer than the Sheraton, which is built more in the style of a Javanese palace whereas the Hyatt is very tastefully landscaped in the style of Borobudur temple.
Unique Quality: On par with hotels like The Datai in Pulau Langkawi... very international concept of Bali-esque/Java-esque resorts.

Yogyakarta Tour Package from Singapore
I am thinking of visiting Yogya on May during Vesak Holiday. I am coming from Singapore and might take the package offered by Garuda.
Here is the deal:
