This hotel is some distance from the main attraction at Jogja, that is, Malioboro St, but they have free shuttles to and back to the hotel, which we made full use of. It's a really cool place to stay. and going to Prambanan area is really easy, coz we could just hop on to a minibus by the road side and it took us straight there. The swimming pool is heavenly and definitely the massage! A bit pricey for Indonesia but heavenly after a full day's walk.
Directions: in the middle between Malioboro and Prambanan.. very near to the adisucipto airport in Jogja.
I will be travelling Yogya. At first, I decided to stay at one of the 5 star hotels. But, I think I don't have to do that because I will be alone. So I changed my mind.
Please recommend a hotel which meets following requirements:
1. Clean (No insects. Especially I hate cockroach!!)
2. Friendly staff
3. Hot water shower facility
4. Internet access (not necessarily)
i suggest 2 stay @ garuda hotel if u wanna a traditional atmosphire, but if u dont, just stay @ ibis hotel, both r on malioboro street.

If you consider to stay around Malioboro then Hotel Batik, Natour Garuda, Mutiara hotel will be good alternative. When I was in Jogja I stayed in hotel Rose at Jalan Prawirotaman, they have huge, clean, air conditioned rooms.
If you want cheap stars hotel them Jayakarta will be good, it locates at Jalan Solo, they have nice rooms. The best one is room with swimming pool view. I know this hotel very well sice my job training was there.
yeah.....i've stay there @ jayakarta hotel, it's realy a nice hotel, but it's lit bit away from down town (according 2 jogja).

I stayed at Inna Garuda last summer and was very pleased. The staff were attentive and the breakfast was excellent. I could see Gunung Merapi smoldering in the distance from my terrace.
HI! May I suggest Duta Garden Hotel? Very nice and comfortable and the service is excellent. But it is a little way off from the main entertainment and eating area of Jalan Malioboro. (You may wish to see my VT page on Yogyakarta) Cheers!
I stayed at Peti Mas Hotel, located at Jalan Dagen. Very close from the central - just a short walk from Malioboro street. It's also close to Sosrowijayan street so it's easy if you want to arrange daily trip, to find places to eat, cafes and for shopping.
The hotel has a very nice garden, swimming pool, friendly staff, hot water. You can choose the room with AC or fan. Although it's very close from the busy street, the hotel itself is quite and peacefull. Other plus point is, every afternoon you receive traditional snack as compliment.
is hotel garuda, garuda natour and inna garuda the same hotel....??? if it so u better take that hotel if u wanna a star hotel, but if u wanna a budget hotel, take peti mas hotel
