It looks simple but expensive. When we booked the room for 3, the rate felt light for our budget so we extended our stay for another day. The rooms are chic and spacious, the surrounding felt crowded though, given that the midtown condition. The breakfast menu made us adventurous since native recipes are among the choice.
The receptionists contacted the chauffeur and car for our tour the following day but gave us the liberty to contract the day rate with the driver directly. Cool!
This little place is great! It’s located in Gang II along Jl. Sosrowijayan, off Jl. Malioboro. Cozy, quiet, with a very good ambiance, and most important of all, clean. WIFI worked for us both in the room and at the terrace/veranda. We were lucky to have hot showers in our room, given the explanation handed out earlier by the owner in previous reviews. The only caveat was the hot shower in our room (#1) was a bit hard to control – sometimes the water can get too hot and when we tried to make adjustment, it went from super hot to being too cold (we showered in late night / early morning). But what we loved best is the ample plug points / extensions they have in room – a big big plus for us as we did not have to share or take turns charging our gadgets. We have 3 cameras and 2 phones between the 2 of us and this was perfect! Breakfast consisted of 2 slice of toast with jam and butter, plus either a cup of tea or coffee. We like the little terrace/veranda where they served breakfast – too bad we only stayed for 2 days and couldn’t spend more time just sitting and chilling out there, bet it would be great! Sammy and the team were great – they were friendly and helpful. Sammy gave us a map of Yogya upon checking in and explained the location to us. We highly recommended this place!
Room tip: Room #1 has hot shower

Abadi Hotel Jogja is a place for a Good Business and Leisure
The location is close to Marloboro street for shopping, across the street from Tugu train station. The staff was very nice and accomodating.
Tulips Hotel & Restaurant is a Dutch managed hotel and proved to be excellent value accommodation.
A standard room with fan, twin beds and a shower (that actually worked) with hot water. This cost IDR195,00 per room per night which inludes breakfast.
Tulips Hotel has 4 types of rooms for you to choose from and all are located ground level around a swimming pool courtyard.
The rooms are serviced daily and were spotless! The staff are friendly and courteous and happy to help in any way to make your stay a pleasant one.
We had met the owner, mrs Diani Sundriyo, in Malang and she had modestly referred to her establishment as a Melati hotel. Well, in our opinion among Melati hotels Paku Mas ranks in the very top.
Spacious rooms, clean bedlinen, functioning AC and hot water, buffet breakfast, large swimming pool, laundry service...., one can hardly expect more for Melati prices.
No wonder that the 30 rooms are often fully booked, and construction of more rooms was ongoing. Perhaps the only drawback for foreign tourists is that Paku Mas is located at a few km distance from the tourist areas Malioboro and Kraton, on the contrary it is closer to the airport.
Rates: We had a double for Rp 280,000. There are family rooms with more beds for prices up to
Rp 400,000 (May 2010).
Address: Jalan Nogopuro 35, Yogyakarta 55281
Directions: The main road to Solo changes names several times. From the Tugu monument you have Jalan Jendral Sudirman, then Jalan Urip Sumoharjo, followed by Jalan Laksda Adisucipto. At the latter find shopping center Plaza Ambarrukmo. Across the road (i.e. on the south side) from the Plaza is a small sideroad named Jalan Nogopuro. Hotel Paku Mas lies just a few steps into this road.
We stayed in the Losmen for a night and didn't want to go. It was okay for a double room and the airconditioning is good. The bathroom was clean and well-lit and the hot water plentiful. :)
Breakfast was included. They serve good pancakes with fresh fruit and the four season fruit juice was actually a very filling smoothie made from fresh fruits. :)
The best feature of our room at the Losmen was a sprawling mural created by the artist owner. Okay, so the wide flat screen TV was also a giant hook!
Too bad their internet connection was a tad slow...
A friend of mine who use to be a professor at the Univerisity here arranged the accomodation for us. The accomodation is very clean and descent and the room is air condition and include a fridge and bath and shower. Breakfast is just a basic Indonesian breakfast.
There is a coffee shop here and also meeting rooms if you need to book.
We had money stolen from our room by the cleaning staff and only got it back from the hotel after a long complaint. When checking out the manager all but accused me of lying. Very noisy also, full of government people on corruption trips
I just love the art and drawings in this place. The room is well painted with drawings. The room comes in fan or air-condition. Hot shower is available too. Cozy and the staff here is friendly to tell the history of Jogja.
Easy access to Malioboro road and train station. Walking out from the small lane, food is in every corner.
Well, I dont need to make any reservation in advance in staying in Jogja.
Well go to Jogja by train then take becak as the transportation, becak is traditonal transportation, its abit looks like bicycle, but it has 3 tires. Passangers sitting on the front, well if you are foreigner you must bargain half price than the price he offer.
The becak will take short cut very easy, if you take by taxi, taxi will cost you more money, maybe about 10 times more than becak, because they have to turn around.
If you are a foreigner, well maybe tell the becak guy to take you to any inn, there are so much and all of them almost the same!!!
They located in the small blocks around Malioboro street. so much, i cant tell you one by one.
Dont forget to bargain even if you local, and most for foreigner, usually it cost about Rp 50.000, per night, or about US $4,30.
Pretend to leave if they dont want your Rp 50.000,- I'm sure they will give up!! About breakfast, well, better the night before you go back to Inn, stop by in a supermarket and buy some bread and milk.
in Malioboro street there a mall, you can walk!!
Well its just bed, they dont have any facilities. Go there when you go to sleep only. Not for relaxing or anything, just sleep, then go again!!
The hotel located in a small street, very close to the Malioboro area, where Yogya happening to happened. They provide large parking lot, clean standard-hotel room, with hot and cold water shower, walking closet, cable TV, large bedroom, and some rooms have connecting doors, which will be a suitable option for family vacation.
The indonesian buffet breakfast are not so variated, yet it is enough for start the day. A becak ~~rickshaw kind~~ that responsible to the hotel is also available should the guest need it.
The Malioboro Inn has 30 comfortable rooms with air-conditioning, hot & cold water with shower, telephone and TV. It is strategically located in the heart of Yogyakarta (more precisely 100 metres from Malioboro Street). The room is very clean and although it is cheaper than most hotels there at Rp275,000/night for a double room, the rate includes bath towels, toothbrush & toothpaste, shower cap and soap.
After the horrible service I received at a four-star hotel, Malioboro Inn was such a sweet surprise... The housekeeping staff does not even accept the small tip I gave them and they even provide transfer service to the airport for a small fee.
- The only hotel in Borobudour compound.
- Borobudour in visual
- Include entrance ticket
- Nice view on Borobudour fromrestaurant
A luxury for Back Packer. Swimming pool, morning call, Breakfast, travel info, most $ wise advice provided for transport.
