Ahmm do you mean Nagoya?
if its just overnight and you'll be taking the train the next day (or bus).
You'll prob should look at sleeping in locations nearby where you'll be taking your next transport from.

Some around JR Nagoya Stn that are pretty cheap to stay are
> Ekimae Mont Blanc Hotel
> Nagoya Flower hotel
> Hotel Louest Nagoya.

Especially those on the west side of JR nagoya station.
Night life wise Sakae would be your answer, Nagoya station area itself becomes pretty dead at night.
It's a short ride via the Higashiyama Line 2 stops away. (I'm assuming you are arriving at night.. as i'm not sure how long you'll be in Nagoya)

Travel Tips for Nagoya

Kinshachi-jo

by woef

In 1610 Tokugawa Ieyasu ordered the construction of Nagoya-jo to solidify the Tokugawa authority in Owari (Nagoya and vicinity). The castle was completed in 1612 and Tokugawa's ninth son Yoshinao entered the castle in 1616 from which he governed over Owari.

Nagoya-jo is famous for the 2 golden shachihoko that adorn the top of its donjon. That is why it is also known as "Kinshachi-jo." Kin means "gold" and shachi refers to the killer whale type mythical creatures that sit atop the donjon and other castle structures.

In the CORPORATE PAVILION ZONE B....you will find the Mountain of dreams, not sure if it worth going in it..I did not..but I saw long lines.....

There are presentation from Sekisui house, Chubu nippon broadcasting and tokai television broadcasting...

The gas pavilion...its a show called "the magic theater of flames" ..the show uses flames from natural gas..its suppose to be enjoyed by big and small..

Both has long lines....
