This building I saw while out for a walk one afternoon.
I don't know its purpose, but it's a heck of a design!
A sort-of a dug-out canoe standing on end, I loved the shape & design.
The "Ark" logo on the top right must be the company that owns it, but I've had little luck finding anything on the web. Notice the Circle-K convenience store on the ground floor.

Houses ten thousand articles from extensive collections handed down by the Tokugawa family as well as historical articles left by Ieyasu. Armor, swords, Noh costumes, decorations of "shoin"(den), a Scroll of the Tale of the Genji, which is a national treasure, are some items of interest
Nagoya was dubbed "unexciting" in the lonely planet guide.... and well, maybe they had a point. 4th largest city in Japan but not much sightseeing to go around. It's got a decent nightlife compared to some of the other more tourist locations and the shopping is certainly better than Kyoto or Nara... but it's not a place you'd really miss out on if you skipped. Still, it's home. I enjoy it!
