L'Ermitage: Love Hotel

Neuschwanstein? Hardly. I stayed here with my wife for one night because all of the "normal" hotels in the city were booked out due to expo (July 2005).

At this hotel, you pay 7400 yen for a stay of 12 hours. Once you enter your room you can't leave until you actually check out and it's not possible to book longer than a night. It's probably handy if you're arriving late at night or just need somewhere to sleep.

This hotel is unique because of what they have in the rooms. There is a karaoke box, sony play station, video, DVD player, cable TV, full operating slot machine, enormous bath, microwave and mini-bar.

PETIT RYOKAN ICHIFUJI: An...

PETIT RYOKAN ICHIFUJI: An enthusiastic young couple runs this small inn, which is just a three minute walk from the Heian Dori subway station on the Meijyo line. Nine rooms are Japanese style; one is Western style. None have private baths, but the inn has nice touches like a cypress wood bath tub. They serve extremely reasonably priced breakfasts (JPY300-500) and dinners (JPY1000-1500).

The photo above is of a typical Nagoya back street.

Meiryu Ryokan

For foreigners the price is 4200 Yen per night for a Japanese style room (futon). The bath is shared and separate from the room.

No curfew, great location in central Nagoya very close to the Sakae district. A taxi back to the Ryokan from Sakae cost only 600 Yen!

Ichifuji Ryokan

Another reasonably priced Ryokan I have stayed in. For a Japanese Style room prices start at 4800 Yen. But it is cheaper if you share a room.

Known for it's beautiful shared bathroom in the traditional Japanese style.

Nishitetsu Inn Nagoya Nishiki: New and Dew

It was quite good. When you come in to the lobby, you will be greeted by their friendly staff. There is a drink dispensing machine in the lobby, which will serve you refreshing drinks, both hot and cold. There is a self service ammenities basket, which will provide you things like shower caps and eye masks. There are only two types of rooms only( single/double ). However, despite the small space, they are quite cozy. There is a flat screen TV, LED lamps and dim lights that help the enviroment. There is a small restaurant called the Locandia Mia, which serves buffet for breakfast and a la carte foods in the afternoon.

The service is amazing and awesome. If there is any problems, they will come to your aid ASAP. The price is cheap and the rooms are great . There have fully automated toilets and they have private smoking rooms for those who likes to smoke. What i also like is the buffet breakfast, which costs only 900 yen ( 8 USD ). They serve creative and yummy sandwiches ( different sandwiches each day ) and have a small but great selection of food and drinks. To me, staying at this hotel is a huge bargain. No offense to other Nagoya shop owners though.
