Luxurious hotel
I stayed here 3 nights with my wife. Our business partner booked us for Yen 22,500 per night. When I presented by Marriot Elite card, they reduce the rate to Yen 15,500 per night all taxes included. Perhaps it is not the peak tourist season. I posted some photos of the room at www.geocities.com/marriotassocia
The room is quite large for Japanese standards. Lobby is on the 15th floor. There was a slight inconvenience of taking one elevator to the 15th floor and then changing to another elevator from the 15th floor to our room on the 30th floor.
The windows vibrated a little bit when the wind was very strong one afternoon. It lasted for just while so our 3 night stay was nice and quiet. I did not hear the trains although I can see them from our window.
There is a charge to use the swimming pool and the sauna. Room is clean. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom looks new. Service is fast. It is a great hotel. I would definitely go back to this hotel.
Just go down and it is the Nagoya Train Station where we took our Bullet Train to Kyoto.

Best Quality -All-You-Can-Drink in Town
Many tourists and locals do not know about the ALL-YOU-CAN-DRINK...and ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT specials at the Marriot Associa Hotel on the 15th floor. The Pergola Cafe Restaurant has 2 seperate specials that go for 3 hours from 8-11pm at the Pergola restaurant. (ALL-YOU-CAN-DRINK $25-US), (ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT $40-US, steak special $50-Friday/Sat only).
The restaurant is nice in itself, with a great night view from your table, but the best thing is that the quality of the drinks really kick-ass. They use top-notch ingredients in their drinks, no short-cuts here. The mixed cocktails and beer on-top are REALLY good.
They will serve you as many as you can pound down.....needless to say, I have walked out very satisfied and very drunk several times, at least 10x, ....it is a really good value for the quality of drinks that you get. They serve you several rounds of snacking food, like pizza, veges and dip and french fries.
I would highly recommend ordering the Kirin #1 Ichiban beer on-tap, it is fantastic! Great flavor! (I am a beer snob, so trust me) It is hard to find good tasting beer in japan, after being here for 3 years. There are very few high quality beers available in Japan at local bars....most places will only have Kirin Lager, or Asahi Super Dry....and that is it, only 2 varieties. As a tourist, this is fine for the time being, but as a local, I soon tired of just two choices and searched for better brews. The Marriot, has one of the best tasting beers in town, the Kirin #1 Ichiban. I also recommend their mixed blue colored cocktail called, CHINA BLUE. It is very good and goes down easy.
The Marriot ALL-YOU-CAN-DRINK, REQUIRES a reservation...you MUST make a reservation several days in advance, because it gets full. Call and make a reservation for the ALL-YOU-CAN-DRINK/EAT special at the PERGOLA cafe.
ALL-YOU-CAN-DRINK-COST IS: $25 (US) or 2,500¥ Japanese Yen.
ALL-YOU-CAN EAT- COST is: $40 (US) Monday-Thursday, $50 (US) Friday-Saturday (special steak/lobster BBQ)
Well worth it.

Simply the best!
Stayed on the Concierge level. Was treated wonderfully by the staff. The Concierge Lounge was wonderful! Room was kept clean, common spaces, though busy, were beautiful and spotless.
Unique Quality: Fantastic location adjacent to main railway/bus stations. Wonderful views of the city from the rooms.

best view in town
Everybody can visit the 15th floor. In front of the lobby you get a nice view.
To stay here it's better to know somebody, who knows somebody, who knows somebody , who 's a major stockholder in the Marriott. 40% discount...
Unique Quality: in the room ;bath, seperate shower, fax , surprisingly cheap minibar! and LAN connection (but a real slow one).

One of Japanese's best six hotels
We have a wonderful 2-night stay at this hotel. The hotel occupies the tallest building in the city. We were staying on the 50th floor where the view was breathtaking. Service t the hotel was excellent.
The hotel is right above 11 floors of JR Takashimaya Dept Store and 3 floors of gourmet outlets. So, shopping and eating is very easy.
One thing about the hotel is unique in that they hired female bell persons to haul guest luggages. These lady bell persons were usually quit petite making us feeling embarassed for allowing her to take our luggage to our rooms.
Unique Quality: It has complimentary in room hi-speed internet. The hotel is locaated on top of the JR and local subway stations. Transportation to the rest of the city is extremely convenient.
