The Japanese are presently experiencing a retro-American phase.
Anything from the fities, sixties & into the seventies, is being reproduced & collected.
Greasers, bobbysox, hoop skirts & drive-ins are more common to find on a Saturday night, but these Elvises can be found dancing to "Blue Suede Shoes" for the enjoyment of it - I didn't see anything laid out for spare change donations.

Although many structures, including the main castle building and palace, were reduced to ashes during the Second World War, the existing main castle and main gate were rebuilt and opened to the public in October 1959. The reconstruction took four years at a cost of about 600 million yen.

"Gateway city"
Nagoya is a gateway to central Japan. It is very easy to access any part of the country from here by plane, bus or train. Nothing much to see for a westerner in Nagoya itself. Bur looooots of people, as in anywhere in Japan.. :)
