My wife and I went there in the end of May as a day trip from Tokyo. The World Expo was a bit crowded so be prepared to line up. When we got there about noon the Toyota stand was already fully booked the rest of the day. The Expo is huge so there is a lot to see and do. Doing it as a day trip from Tokyo made it into a long day..we started at 8 am from Tokyo station and we came back to the hotel 9-10 pm. I'm working on my trip report at the moment and I will post it on http://gardkarlsen.com eventually...but I'm not sure that it will be published before you go there...

I got special invite from the Venezuelan embassy to go for the opening of the venezuelan pavilion on the 29...
that start at 11am...no public allow until after the ceremony.....I knew about the long lines..:)..
I know too there is lots to see...and that is what has me a little confused....not sure what to choose..;)
I will be leaving from yaizu..which is not to bad...2 hours top to nagoya...

If you like zoo and botanical garden, this place has plenty to offer. The place is huge so you must prepare yourself to do some exercise by walking. However, you may not notice the distance and the length of time you spend on this place because of plenty of attractions along the way. Be sure to have a camera ready all the time because good animal expressions may come at any moment where you least expect it to happen.
Today I went to Nagoya to take a Guide Licence Test. In Japan, the law says the paid guide for oversea visitors must have a national licence. The test is open to non-Japanese as well. But I am not so sure if there's a test for Licenced Guide in Japan in your country. The applicants take foreign language test, and other subjects such as Japanese history, Basic geography of Japan and about major places of interests and Economic, Political and Miscellaneous Knowledge. The result of the written test will be announced on November 12. The exam took a whole day so I could only visit Osu Kannon for about half an hour.
I had lived in Nagoya during late 80s and early 90s and sometimes visit when some events come about. If I have time I still visit one or two places.
