Train stations in Nagoya
by Claude2255
I will arrive to Nagoya by fast train from Kanazawa and i will have to go local train to Okazaki. Is it true that this train will not leave from central station, but from Nagoya NR station. Is it far from one station to the other?

Hi! Does the word "NR" mean Aichi Kanjo Tetsudo?
You can ride the train at Kozoji station, not at Nagoya station.
It takes 30 minutes from Nagoya to Kozoji by JR Chuo line train.
I don't recommend this way if you go straight through to Okazaki.
From Nagoya to Okazaki, Central Japan Railway (JR) Tokaido line runs parallel with Meitetsu Railway Nagoya line.
If you go to Okazaki by JR train, you can change at Nagoya station smoothly.
If you go by Meitetsu train, you have to walk the underground pass to Meitetsu-Nagoya station.
Both trains take 30 minutes from Nagoya to Okazaki.
Have a nice trip!

Nagoya Castle

During the Tokugawa period. 1603-1867, Nagoya Castle served as the residence for the lord of Owari, head of the three most important families of the Tokugawa family.
The castle built from 1610-1611 and destroyed by fire in 1945, was restored to its original splendor in 1959.

When you research Nagoya, there doesn't seem to be much of interest. However, Nagoya is a really well laid out pretty city and I'm sure that given more than a day or two you would find plenty to do.
I was only there for one night myself, but Nagoya Castle was just so pretty, the grounds covered with cherry blossoms, wandering cats and sakura flavoured ice cream.
