This traditional Japanese inn is amazing! The host is energetic, provides good food and sat with us telling us the history of the building... which is quite spectacular! The only standing building left out of 25 that served as an entertainment house for men until the 1950s. The tatami rooms are absolutely gorgeous and the hotel is SPOTLESS. There is a new toilet built upstairs and the bath is lovely. Apparently there is are also modern rooms but I didn't see these and can only comment on the traditional tatami rooms.
Unique Quality: Hachinohe has a festival in late July just before Nebuta Matsuri in early August. If you go at this time you can catch both maturis.
