Misawa WHAT!!

Located in Aomori Prefecture in Honshu region, Misawa is one of the smaller villages in the area. I went to visit my girlfriend who works as teacher in the US base here in Misawa.

From here we traveled to a couple cities that a lot of tourist tend to forget like Lake Towada which is Japan's 3rd deepest lake. Another place a lot of have probably never heard of is Aomori where Japan's largest buddha is located.

The Tohoku region is known for its mountain scenery, national parks , an abundance of hot springs, a lot of ski resorts and hiking trails.

So if you prefer down to earth hospitality of local japanese over the flashiness of Tokyo head to Tohoku in Northern Japan.

This pagoda is in Aomori where Japan's largest buddha is situated.

I swear the area is gorgeous scenery of green mountain and not the pink you see in the picture , hehe.

Hirosaki castle is located on a park that offers a nice getaway if you want a day of relaxation.
