by nightlight_princess
A castle town situated at the mouth of the Nishiki river. It's symbol the Kintai-kyo bridge was constructed by Kikkawa Hiroyoshi, Lord of Iwakuni in 1673 during the Edo period. It is a five arch bridge, and one of the three famous bridges of Japan. Cherry blossom in the spring and cormorant fishing in the summer only add to the attraction of this bridge. Other places to see include Iwakuni Castle, Kikko Park, and the white snake display.
Narita - Gateway city into Japan

"My First Japanese City"
I visited Narita long time ago - in the late 1980s - when I flew over Japan on my way to further my studies in California, USA. I had to transit in Narita to break my long journey to the USA. At the time, I was just a naive but bright-eyed bushy-tailed teenager of 19 years old. That was the first time I've ever left my country and I remembered being very excited to see Japan.
I remembered the prison-looking Narita airport, passing by colourful hilly landscapes of terraced rice-paddy fields, before ending up at my hotel for the night. As my flight the next day was in the afternoon, I had the morning to explore a bit of Narita. We took the shuttle bus to the town, and I remembered walking around the japanese shopping streets. I remembered entering a shopping complex and surprised to see the japanese sales ladies bowing greetings to us as we entered.
I thought that the Japanese were very polite and courteous people, soft-spoken and of gentle-manners.
It's said that Narita city has two hearts within its rich natural environment of water and greenery. The tranquil heart is Naritasan Shinshoji temples which are paid homage to by many visitors all-year-round. Then there is the heart of action, Narita airport, considered to be the sky-gateway of Japan.

"The Narita"
The Japan International Airport located at Narita. This is a out-of-city international airport that not operate in 24-hours. This is being protest by the local farmer. The earlier flight arrive at the airport will schedule after 6am and onwords and the last flight is about 9pm from Taipei. Why? I think a Japanese can answer you this...
Quite a distance to travel from Narita to Tokyo.
Around this area you can find lots of farm. A very nice gree color carpet along the highway in a square size. I was staying at the Excel Hotel on my last day before I back to home. Visiting a Naritasan Temple that not far from the airport. Walking down the street of Nakamichi for night life.
A have a night at Narita Excel Hotel which is not far from the Narita International Airport. I took a round trip to Narita at night in a taxi for 3000yen+!!!
Expensive...but atleast I experience..:)
