More about Toyoko Inn

Toyoko Inn Hakata

by salisbury3933 about Toyoko Inn Hakata

This is one of a nationwide chain. The Hakata hotel was standard as far as this chain goes nationwide. It's comfortable and affordable without being overly luxurious. The rice balls and miso soup for breakfast go down well, and having free internet in the foyer is handy as well

CHUGOKU--SOS--a place to stay on 23rd Nov

by necrosis

hi all...

yes, this is extremely last minute..
but i need a place to stay this friday and Saturday night!

my air tickets were confirmed pretty late, and unfortunately, i land in kansai on the labor day of japan.

i've tried EVERY possible website to book online.
(of course, within budget...which is pretty tight)
apart from US100++++ (which is SGD200+++ a night!!! ), i cannot find anything reasonable...say under SGD$100 a night for a double/twin room (or even 2 beds in a dorm)

i figure there are minshiki/guesthouse/pensioners/motels out there which aren't listed on the web and require a phone call...?
of course since i can neither read nor speak japanese, this is a major impediment. :P

any help would be so appreciated.

I'd a place to stay (double/twin room) somewhere in Chugoku.
I'd be travelling to hiroshima on 25th Nov and i land up in kansai international airport on the 23rd. so anywhere in between would be good....osaka, kyoto, himeji, okayama, kobe, kurashiki...etc etc...
as long as there's public transport to that place...we're not picky.
off the beaten track a bonus.

:D
desperate and doomed?

Have you tried with Toyoko Inn (www.toyoko-inn.com)? They have tons of hotels, and are never located far from public transportation. And they're affordable.

Hotels keeping bags overnight?

by imolinar

We will be staying 3 nigths in the Osaka area, the first and last day in Namba-Osaka (hopefully same hotel) and the second day in Mt Koya (booked already).
We would need to keep the luggage overnight at the hotel in Osaka while we go to Koya. Do hotels usually provide the service?, or what alternatives do we have?. I have not booked the hotel in Osaka yet. Thank you.

I don't about Japan but I have done this in many places all over the world. You can alwys email them before booking.

The answer is normally yes, but as was stated in the previous posts, there is a caveat or two:

1. The larger hotels usually have left luggage rooms, but some of the smaller ones do not, so best to ask; and

2. Even if they do, they tend to have a "first come - first served" policy. I have on, rare occasions, run into situations where so many people have left luggage, that they have no more storage space.

So check with your hotel to verify what they do, and even if they have have a left luggage room, be prepared to store elsewhere or take the bags along.

I have stay in Toyoko inn and they have no problem keeping our luggage for few day. However they do not have a luggage room, they just put all the luggage at the lobby area under a net (that have bell).
