Kitakyushu Beaches!!
In Wakamatsu Ku there are a few beaches worth checking out in summer.
This one is Ashiya Beach. To get there you travel to Orio Station and catch a bus to Ashiya from there for around 220 yen.

I came through Kitakyushu on a number of occasions, each time arriving on or to take the ferry to Matsuyama where I was living.
There is some interesting stuff to do there, the castle, spaceworld amusement park and the Moji area stand out.
