Kokura This picture is taken on a bridge over the Murasaki River, Kokura. Behind me is a museum on the changing environment in Kitakyushu, complete with a glass screen to view the river. The Murasaki River used to be one of the most polluted rivers in Japan.
Behind the museum is the popular Izutsuya Shopping Centre.
Kitakyusyu-city is the gateway to Kyusyu from anywhere in Japan and Asian countries.
