Otaru Museum. The museum is in a beautiful/historic building that was formerly a storage warehouse. Here you can see photos and artifacts from Otaru’s colorful past. The second building has a large collection of butterflies from the area. The museum provides a packet with English explanations. Best of all the admission is only 100\ (less than a US dollar).

Otaru was flourish by many trade in taisyo period(about 100years ago).
Many main banks gatherd in this city and Otaru was a center of commerce in Hokkaido.

But Sapporo get the center instead of Otaru.

Otaru's economic active falter.

Now Otaru remains the mood of the day.

You can enjoy western mood and glass art . of course Seafood!
