Takino Suzuran Park provides a relaxing setting of waterfalls and gorges. With its barbecue facilities, you can also enjoy cooking Genghis Khan.

Makomanai Park contains facilities used for the 1972 Winter Olympics, including large indoor and outdoor stadiums. A river runs through the park and several small streams crisscross it, making this an ideal place to jog or view nature. Yurigahara Park, noted for its abundant greenery and flowers, features over 12,000 lilies of 80 species, a lawn square and a garden of wild grasses. The Sapporo Salmon Museum promotes education and the return of salmon to the Toyohira River, where they spawn from September to December.

Sapporo Art Park is a spacious facility in the wooded hills south of Sapporo which features an impressive outdoor sculpture garden. Lessons are offered in studios for ceramics, woodcrafts, hand weaving and woodblock printing. Plays, classical music concerts and other events, including the Pacific Music Festival, are frequently held here in the summer.

Sapporo Sato Land comprises 100 hectares of green, pastoral space. Butter- and sausage-making can be experienced at its central facility, Sato Land Center. In the Fureai Farm, children can play with sheep and goats or enjoy pony rides.

Moerenuma Park, which was designed by the world-famous sculptor Isamu Noguchi, is under construction and scheduled for completion in 2004. In the park are cherry and larch woods, and at Moerenuma Marsh fishing can be enjoyed. Completed areas are already open to the public.

Ishiyama Ryokuchi is a park with many natural features located along the National Highway to Lake Shikotsu, on the site of an old quarry. The park is divided into the North Block, which boasts a sweeping view from the hillside, and the South Block, which offers a fascinating landscape featuring rock carvings.
