A Posh Hotel in central Sapporo
This is Hokkaido's first Western Style hotel, founded in 1934. It's a 5 or 6 star hotel and very very expensive, few notches up from the Sheraton group. A huge hotel too, with 3 wings with different room layouts each. It is a popular destination for business gatherings and wedding functions. Every night stay will come with complimentary breakfast/brunch in one of its restaurants of your choice.
Please note staff speak very minimal English. There is only 1 frontdesk staff who can speak fluently but he is rarely on duty. Hence it will be good if you can converse in Japanese.
I also stayed in a modern motel, and in comparison, the Sapporo Grand Hotel excels in just 2 areas - large room, and great food. That's about it, for 3 times the price! I will not return to Sapporo Grand Hotel as it is way too expensive and there are equally good cheaper accommodations in better locations.
Unique Quality: Great food, perfect selection and preparation, quality is unmatched anywhere else!
