Akashi's Hidden Gem

The Green Hill is across the street from Akashi's Castle Park. It is also a short walk (about two blocks) from the JR Akashi rail station and the Akashi fish market. The park is beautiful, especially during cherry blossom season, and you can watch tennis games, a baseball game, watch people fish, or simply stroll and enjoy the scenery. Most Green Hill rooms have a view of the castle - be sure to request one, though, so you are not disappointed. The hotel also serves breakfast, has western-style toilets, free internet access and one English-language TV station. The rooms are clean and spacious (especially for a Japanese room), but when we were there in the spring the rooms were overly warm (they had not turned on the AC yet). All in all, a nice, quiet hotel with a fabulous view.

Unique Quality: Park/castle view; free high speed internet; large rooms (for Japan); breakfast; close to JR Akashi rail station, a mall above the station, a good variety of restaurants, and the Akashi fish market; two restaurants (one westen, one Japanese). One block from a Starbucks.
