Hotel Monterey Kobe: Good location, reasonably priced.

The Hotel Monterey is located approximately 5 minutes on foot from the Sannomiya Station in Kobe. From there it is one subway stop to the Shin-Kobe Station. We were able to book our room online and received a discount for pre-booking. Prices are quite reasonable mid-week but go up over the weekend. Check in and out was fast and efficient. Our room was very clean and relatively spacious (by Japanese standards) with a double bed, separate small dressing area and regulation bathroom offering all of the usual amenities (shampoo, bath gel, comb, toothbrush, yukata). There is a lovely courtyard and restaurant on site. I would recommend this hotel due to its comfort and convenience.
