REMINDER OF THE GREAT HANSHIN EARTHQUAKE
The Great Hanshin Earthquake occurred at 5.46am on January 17, 1995 with a magnitude 7.2 on the Richter Scale. Going to KOBE EARTHQUAKE DISASTER MEMORIAL PARK at Kobe Port (Meriken Park area) you can see part of the damage to the wharf that has been preserved as a reminder of that great event. Before & after photos are exhibited.

Kobe to me is not a tourist attractions. Although I was´t there as tourist i felt like the city had not too much to offer in tems of historic sites, natural wonders,...
For me it´s merely a big city with lots of trafic. Travelling from OSAKA airport to Kobe, you see nothing but the huge harbour (and I thought Antwerp harbour(Belgium) was big?) and plenty of high buildings. However, I did appreciate the fine Japanese (Sushi) and Vietnamese resaurants!
