Considering the Castle Inn in Kanazawa?

Higashi Chaya District by akikonomu
One of two geisha and pleasure district in Kanazawa, the other being Nishi Chaya, the largely pedestrianised area boasts of geisha and teahouses made for a pleasant walk. Souvenirs shop, some selling pretty eclectic items, and restaurants make up the bulk of the attraction.
Besides taking nice photos of old houses, you may also chance upon a gold leaf shop or two in the area. There are also many temples and shrines there, making the entire area all very photogenic. Evenings are quiet and no geishas were sighted on our visit, although you can make appointments at some of the teahouse if you wanted a private preview to one of Japan's most exclusive art forms.
