Noto Peninsula Tip #5 Monzen

Very close to the top of the west side of the Noto Hanto you’ll find the small town of Monzen, which has been particularly hard hit by the great Noto Hanto earthquake of 2007. Rebuilding efforts are on the way, but the town will be scared for a long time to come. There isn’t much to do here, but there is one temple of importance to see, Soji-ji. It’s mostly a reconstruction of older building, but you can participate in meditation sessions if you come at the right time.

You will be forgiven if you pass through to the areas largest city, Wajima.

Kanazawa, my 2nd hometown is a sentimental city

"The city of old history"

I moved to this city on the northern coast of Japan's mainland on February 2004.
It's somewhat cold to live in this city that is almost covered with snow in winter,
but this city shows various scenes of nature by season.
Especially on autumn, the old Japanese garden of Kenrokuen dyed with autumnal foliage
is worth visiting if you want to be relaxed and get away from Japanese noisy larger cities.
I hope you can find Kanazawa more and more exotic than Kyoto.
