Travel Tips for Yokohama

The Final!! FIFA WorldCup 2002

by crazyguitar

All was ready for the best football match of the last 4 years. Brazil vs Germany!!
The ambience was amazing!!!
Plenty of supporters, I love the vivid and happy Brazilians!
Lots of Japanese wearing t-shirts of both teams!
The match was brilliant!!!
Ronaldo scored twice to give Brazil a 2-0 victory over Germany.
I was lucky!! I was there!!!

Yokohama day trip

by SLLiew

Yokohama is a quick 30 minutes by train from Tokyo. There is the old and new part of this city of over 3 million. It was transformed from a fishing village to a major port to the rest of the world.

There are many convention and exhibition halls built on reclaimed land including an iconic giant ferris wheel. Had a really good unagi (eel) dish at one of the departmental restaurants. There is also a famous garden in the midst of this urban rapid build up.

Yokohama - Day trip from Tokyo

by SLLiew

Yokohama is an easy day trip from Tokyo by train.

The first time, I went there to attend a Pet Fair as well as to try the famous unagi (eel) restaurant. My host, my friend's father, even took me on a taxi ride across the famous bridge in Yokohama and visited his goldfish shop at Mitsukoshi supermarket in Yokohama.

My other trip, I went to Yokohama Chinatown. Yokohama has an old town and new town which are connected by trains. The pier is worth a visit and there is a famous garden nearby.
