The interesting part is that...
The interesting part is that at the underground there is a nice reconstruction of a Japanese town in the forties, with fake facades of houses and shops and real ramen-ya where you can sample the noodles (but nothing is included in the price of the entrance ticket!)
Yokohama Port Museum/Nihonmaru Training Ship
I found the museum to be particularly interesting, detailing the role Yokohama's port has played in the economic and political development of not only Yokohama, but Japan. The displays detail the history from when the Americans forced Japan open in the 1850's, through emigration, war, rapid economic development to the present day. There are also quite a few interesting displays in regards to the evolution of shipbuilding.
It's also well worth having a look around the Nihonmaru, moored right next to the museum.

The party started in the late afternoon in Yamashita Park. The weather was just right for the picnic. Not much sunshine. Felt the bay bleeze. Sayaboo and JoannaMoon cooked some snack for everyone!
