Daiya Ryokan

The inn keeper may be the kindest person on earth. Her husband runs the restaurants across the street. They provide a 4" thick futon mattress to make it easier to sleep on the tatami matt floor.

Directions: North on busy Karasuma St. (or underground) to corner of Shichijo St. - near large Higashi Hoganji Temple. Cross to east side, continue north two blocks and turn right onto Shimojuzuyamachi St. Next block - "Daiya Inn" on the far left (northeast) corner.
