K's House is a great house!

K's House is an excellent choice for a great stay in Kyoto. It's a busy hostel with service minded staff who's always willing to help. The rooms and all common areas are spacious and clean. It's a great place to meet other people travelling alone but the crowd is mixed and this is a good place for families, young folks, couples.. anyone really! :)

From the hostel there's a 10-15min walk to Gion and City Centre.
It's about a 10min walk to Kyoto station.
Buses stop 200m away.

Unique Quality: * Great helpful and friendly english speaking staff!
* No curfew!
* Big common room and good kitchen!
* Fresh showers and bathrooms!
* Got bikes for hire and free maps!
* Internet access and will burn photos onto cd's cheap!
* TV corner and there's DVD's for hire at the front desk!
* Luggage storage if you arrive early or got hours to kill in Kyoto after checking out!
* Cosy outdoor terrace!

Kyoto's Best Hostel Inarguably!

Best hostel I've ever stayed in. That is a huge accolade, isn't it? But just check out the place yourself, and you'll most likely agree with me :P

Unique Quality: For its price, which is one of the best in notoriously expensive Japan, K's House is extremely clean, friendly and convenient. However the best thing about it is the HOMELINESS which you enjoy during your stay. During my time at K's House, I looked forward to returning to K's House every day! Rooms were great, the people were also very friendly there, and I just had a blast during my visit in Kyoto.

A general tip: If you're staying in Kyoto for at least 7 days (if the policy hasn't changed, that is), K's House will offer a 10 or 20% discount off the total cost. Apologies I am writing this a few months after my stay and I can't recall how much savings I had exactly.

Anyways, location is great too. It's a mere 5-10 minute walk from Kyoto Station. And if you have done your research well :P, Kyoto Station is a huge place that provides train services to almost anywhere in Japan. It is also one of the stations for the Shinkansen.

Day trips to Nara, Osaka, Kobe, Himeji, Hiroshima etc can be done from the Kyoto Station.
