Hotel near the Nijojo-Castle
If you want to stay at a low price, this hotel will probably be good.But the bed is quite small.
There is distance considerably up to a convenience store from this hotel. Since it is near Nijo Castle, it is not troubled by a restaurant.
Since there is also a mini bar in the room and amenity goods are arranged, equipment is ready once.The room is clean.
Unique Quality: From this hotel to Nijo Castle, probably it is minutes' walk.
It will be good for traveling Nijo Castle in the early morning.

Conveniently located hotel in Kyoto
The Kyoto Garden Hotel is conveniently located within 5 minutes walking distance from the Karasuma-Oike subway station. Tucked in a side lane off Karasuma-dori, the Kyoto Garden Hotel is perfect for visiting Kyoto. With a double room going for Y8000, it is a good bargain. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is complimentary internet access in the lobby.
Unique Quality: Good location and reasonably priced. Only 2 stops away from Kyoto station.

Clean and cosy in Kyoto
We stayed at the Kyoto Gardens Hotel in Kyoto which whilst extremely small, was relatively cheap at around $105 Australian. It was also very clean, cosy and just around the corner from the Karasuma Oike subway station which made transport very easy.
Would definately recommend it. Be prepared for one of the smallest hotel rooms. Not enough room for a wardrobe, and really the only place to eat was in bed, but it was still extremely pleasant.
Unique Quality: The Hotel was within walking distance of the National Palace and the Nijo-jo Castle.
Make a note of the earthquake warnings in the lift. Very funny and very scary.

good location and price
This is a mid-price ranged hotel, with an excellent location. Near the main subway and withing walking distance of Nijo castle, Imperial Palace Park and city center. Also its located off the main road, in the quieter Muromachi street.

My husband and I stayed there in January last year and thought it was really worth the stay. Is extremely small room, but very clean and very cosy. The area is quite old and very charming. It's very close to the Karasuma Oike subway station which made transport very easy. It's not exactly in the midst of things, but the transport makes it easier. For the cost it was a definite. Goodluck.
