Internet access

If you want to go on the internet, for instance to see some of the VT tips about Kyoto, or just to check your mail, a good place to do so is at the Kyoto Prefectural International Centre. The centre is at the 9th floor of Kyoto station building.
The costs are 100 Yen for 15 minutes. When you enter you state the time you want. You pay and get a timer. When the timer goes off your time is up. When there is nobody waiting you can pay more and surf longer. If there are people waiting you have to get in line again.
The centre is open from 10:00 to 18:00 hours. While Tom was checking the mail i enjoyed the view from the upperfloors of the Kyoto station.

How to get on and off the Kyoto City Bus
by joiwatani
When you are travelling in Kyoto City by a bus, make sure to know how to get on and off the city bus. They have a different way of taking the bus.
When you get on to the bus, get on the bus from the back or middle door and get off at the front. Pay the bus fare when you get off.
The bus fare is 220 Yen for adults and 110 Yen for children (6-12 years old) within the central city. For further travelling, the fare will be added depending on the distance.
You will see the bus number and final destination in the display at the front, back and the side of the bus,

RYOANJI TEMPLE
by heywinks
This temple is famous for its rock garden made up of white sand & 15 rocks. It was laid out at the end of the 15th century. In pictures the garden looks larger than what it really is. But this is a place to meditate & reflect. Look at the swirls of the sand. The placement of the rocks. You will be moved.
Also notice the "Tsukubai" (a stone washbasin for the tea room) near the main building. It is inscribed "I learn only to be contented".
The grounds of this temple is amazing.Be sure to take a walk around the pond!
Also, taste & buy the tea at the entrance of the temple. It`s amazing & so delicious!!
