Too small for comfort
I already knew ahead that most hotels in Japan (except for the luxury ones) were smaller compared to Western counterparts, but the rooms here could make you claustrophobic. The bed was so low, there was hardly room for luggage, the room had cigarette odor (though I was aware that non-smoking rooms were unavailable), the bathroom was crampy and the breakfast can make you puke.
The only reason I chose this place was because other more suitable hotels were already booked 2 months before the Gion festival. Now that I have stayed in it, I certainly would not recommend it to others except perhaps to lone travelers who smoke and don't pack much.
Unique Quality: Quite accessible to a subway station. Nothing else beyond that.
