Great Value Class Hotel
Reason why to stay at this hotel:
1. Location - within central Kyoto (I meant Downtown Kyoto is really big)
2. Near to great temple - walking distance to Higashi Temple.
3. Great value at 4 star hotel service
4. Breakfast - Variety of selection, delicious Japanese sausage
I would strongly recommend for holidaymakers who intend to stay for at least 3 nights and doing lots of sightseeing.
Unique Quality: Try book third party online like I did with Octopustravel.com, booked during cherry blossom season (considered a peak season in Japan) and the price that I paid is GBP18 per person per night room only rate. I still cant believe I got a good rate especially staying hotel in Japan.

A fine water feature
We were using Tokyu Travel group, thus Tokyu Hotels were the choice.
a typical Tokyu Hotel chain, i,peccable service and unusual features.
Unique Quality: On arrival, a plain front, enter the doors and an escalator takes one two levels down;
the water on the left flowing down over cobbles and greenery caught my eye;
at the bottom landing ,
a pool of water in the coirtyard hold s ones attention, turn left to the reception area, a view of the pool, on the opposite side of the pool is the bar,
but a level lower, the view if a cascade of water from the pool interrupted only by two or three protruding rocks;
Zen at its simple basics.
