Yokkaichi, Mie ken, Nihon.....My 2nd Home!
"Gaijin Dormitory at Shinsho(u)..."
This 4 storey block was my home for 6 months...mine, a few Aussies, an Italian and a fair contingent of Irish lads.
The flat was small but fine considering the lack of space inherent in the Japanese living Environment.
From here, it was 10 minutes walk into Yokkaichi City, 30 minutes Train ride to Suzuka (where I worked) and 45 minutes on the Limited Express Train up to Nagoya City.
"Yokkaichi Station... centre of town.."
Yokkaichi is well served by the Kintetsu Line, which runs from Nagoya down to Osaka, and at Nakagawa has a side rail down to the beautiful Kashokajima.
The station at Yokkaichi is smack bang in the middle of the City, and has a busy network of Shops and Restaurants around it.
The Trains are immaculately clean and safe to travel on, as is the most of Japan.
"The way to travel..."
Nozomi & Standard Shinkansen (Bullet Train) from Osaka or Tokyo to Nagoya then Limited Express to Yokkaichi.
Limited Express From Osaka Namba Station to Yokkaichi.
Any station on the Kintetsu Line using the normal standard Train service.
This photo (forgive the quality, I will change it as soon as possible) and write up will be moved to the Transport Tips when I've got more pics on disc...
