Gozaisho in autumn
"Mt. Gozaisho"
The Gozaisho mountain, with over 1200 mt., is one of the highest in Mie prefecture. It's a popular spot for red-leaf viewing in autumn, and many visitors take the ropeway to the summit to watch the multi-coloured foliage. There are also other tourist facilities nearby, like the Yunoyama onsen (hot springs) and a ski track near the top.
We went in october and hiked all the way up and down.
"The waterfall"
We took the "other side" hiking course and after a few minutes we reached the Souryu waterfall (I'm not sure about the name), 50 meters high.
"Hiking on"
Around half-way of the course the view is already very impressive.
"Gozaisho conquered"
At the summit we had lunch and rested.
""Momiji""
The descent was by a different trail, this one inside the forest. We saw a few momiji, the most beautiful tree at fall season.
I swear I did not retouch this picture!
"Ground level"
We reached the town far from where we started, and had to walk a long way by a stream until the bus stop
