A truly nice ryokan

Located on a hill by the river, a few minutes walk from Zuihoden, the Date mausoleum. The rooms are really lovely, the views from the room are nice too. The food is excellent. The only drawback is that after the tourist Loople bus drops you off after a long day's sightseeing, you have a steep walk uphill. The staff are so friendly though, and the baths so relaxing, that you can forget your worries!

Unique Quality: One of the nicest traditional Japanese rooms I have stayed in. The cupboard doors, even though mass-produced, are so lovely that I had to take a picture of them!
If you have a room with bathroom attached, watch out! You could exposed to all across the river, as there are no curtains!

A: "Not sure that this is correct. You can get the train from Sendai to Ishinomaki. The line from Ishinomaki to Onagawa though does still look to be inoperable."
