Obon matsuri
Peace Park in Nagasaki
it supposed to be the point where the bomb exploded.
it was crowded with japanese students and some tourist.
the guide told us was in nagasaky where the cristianity enters japan. you will see some shops selling image of angels along with buddas.
we went to some ruins of the city and climb in a funicular to a mountain.
Third on my list of Japanese cities is Nagasaki.
Unlike Tokyo and Kyoto in Honshu, Nagasaki is in the southern island of Kyushu. Has more Chinese and western influence because of the port which was open to Westerners.
Also one of the unfortunate cities to be bombed by a nuclear device.
Most people fly to Fukuoka (Hakata) airport to get to Kyushu. I took the JR train to Hakata and then continue by train to Nagasaki. Alternatively drive from Hakata.
