Easy to find

Modern and very welcoming hotel right inside the station complex, so ideal for newcomers to town. Smarter than our usual accommodation! Able to sit and watch the trains from our soundproofed room. First sight of an electric WC too......

Travel Tips for Nagaoka

Welcome to Bonio's Nagaoka page

by bonio

We chose Nagoaka as our base for three nights because of the ease of travel to Niigata and Tokyo. This was our first time outside Tokyo, also the hotel we booked here was easy to find as, at the time we were still newcomers to Japan and still a little apprehensive about finding our way around....we shouldn't have worried! The World Cup match between Ireland and Cameroon was in Niigata, and we wanted a couple of extra days to explore the area. Heres what we did....

Although some way from Niigata many people had chosen to stay in Nagaoka and the city was well prepared for us. Directions and information were easily available. Welcoming, anxious to help people everywhere! Here's a jet lagged David at the station!
