Well from Oita i cannot say much, i just went to a World Cup Match, Italy vs.Mexico, this was the first round final match then Mexico and Italy were eliminated in the next round. Oita is 2 hours in Sonic train from Fukuoka. Is a modern city, the principal attractions is 15 minutes in train. Beppu Hot Springs, there are probably the best Hot Springs in Japan, there is a rare spot where the wather is red color, what make unique the Hot Spring experience you have here.
What i can show from Oita to VT pals is this pic from the Big Eye Stadium.
