Affordable Accommodations Near the Attractions

Kurashiki Youth Hostel is very affordable and conveniently located on the hill behind Ivy Square, so it's only about a 10 minute walk from the Bikan Historic District. It's a great place to stay to visit Kurashiki, as well as Okayama, Soja, and Takahashi.

The hostel has four beds per room, and there is a small television in each room. There are books in the hallway, if you can read Japanese (there is one book in German, as well). The hostel owners are very nice and they have brochures and information about Kurashiki and the surrounding area. The rooms are equipt with heating/air conditioning, and the blankets provided are quite comfortable and warm.

The bathing area allows two people to bathe at a time and there is also a bath to relax in after washing yourself. There is a washing machine and dryer if you wish to wash any clothing during your stay. Meals cost extra, but they do offer breakfast and dinner.

They have their own Kurashiki Youth Hostel van, and they will pick you up at the station when you first arrive, if you call them.

For Youth Hostel members, the price is around 2300 yen however, for non-members, it is still probably the cheapest accommodation in the city, costing about 2900 yen. Reservations need to be made by phone.
