Just wondering?

Anyone out there know if the East Coast bar is still around? I was stationed in Oki. for 8 years with the Marines in the 80`s and early 90`s worked at the bar for years. I really miss Ginny and Muneo as they were great friends and great people. It has been a long time, don`t know if they would remember me after all these years.

I was last out there early 2008- East Coast is still alive and well!!! Right off of Camp Hansen in Kin Town, across the street from that little town park.

Travel Tips for Okinawa

Okinawa has beautiful coasts, beaches and surrounding islands. It is difficult for a foreigner to travel alone because most of the people does not speak english.
There are many travel agencies. I used Jumbo Tours ( http://www.jumbotours.co.jp/en/ ). They have english speaking staff so you won't have any problems to communicate. They can arrange hotel, tickets and car. The landscapes are superb. Good for family trip if you visit the Aquarium or if you stay in one of their beaches. I went on december. The weather is variable. So you can have a rainy one today and a sunny and hot tomorrow. Rent a car and explore the roads. You also have nice spots for diving and surfing.
