Surutto Kansai 2 Day Ticket

by rinxie

Dear friends,

May I check with you if the Surutto Kansai 2 Day ticket will be available for sale this year? I've actually read somewhere that only the 3 Days Ticket is available, hence want to clarify if this is true.

Thanks in advance!

Lynn (=

Hi. I live in Tokyo & don't know about it so much.
But according to these sites, there are some types.
www.surutto.com
www.japan-guide.com/e/e2357_005.html

"Zenkoku-ban" 2 day ticket available, I guess.

Someone please confirm, thank you.

Hi Nora,
It's japan-guide.com which mentioned the sale of only the Surutto 3 Days ticket for this year and not the 2 Days ticket. As for the Zenkoku version, I understand from the website that I can only purchase it out of Kansai region, meaning I can purchase it from the JTB located in Singapore and exchange the voucher for the pass when i've reach Kansai? Also, is there any price difference between the Kansai and Zenkoku version?

Just last week I have bought the Kansai Thru Pass (2 days pass) at Shin Osaka station.

?? Surutto Kansai Ticket or Kansai Thru Pass ??

by Norasuz5

Hi elfje, welcome back to this forum!
How was your Japan trip?

I think Kansai Thru Pass is different from Surutto Kansai Ticket.
elfje, the pass you bought at Shin-Osaka station was Kansai Thru Pass, for tourists from abroad.
And you could use it on non-consecutive 2/3 days or on consecutive 2/3days.

We Japanese can buy Surutto Kansai "Zenkoku version" Ticket.
But we have to use this version 3 day ticket on CONSECUTIVE 3 days.
And we can't buy this in Kansai area (of course including Shin-Osaka station).
I think this is the promotion ticket attracting the people live outside of the area in Japan.

Lynn, I understand from www.surutto.com, you can't buy "Zenkoku version" in your country. But you can buy Kansai Thru Pass there.
They are same price (3 day: 5,000 yen, 2 day: 3,800 yen).

Everybody, please correct me, if I'm wrong.

I am going to Japan in a few days and am interested in this Kansai pass......could you please let me know if there is a service charge for it, or just the 3800 or 5000yen fee? Thanks.

RE: RE: Surutto Kansai 2 Day Ticket

by eenelfje

I did not pay any service charge for the Kansai ticket.

RE: RE: Surutto Kansai 2 Day Ticket

I had a 2 days card and it was not for consecutive days.

Travel Tips for Osaka

shrine No.1: Shinko-in Temple

by globetrott

We came accidentally to this small garden with a shrine and a cemetery inside and had a look around: Shinko-in Temple A ceremony had started shortly after we came and we were invited to participate. We took off our shoes and sat on small chairs and listened to the singing and praying, before we finally left after some 10 minutes or so. We had a look around in the garden and cemetery as well and finally we go a present by one of the people there,it was a small wrapped box with maybe some food in it - read more about it in my "local custom-tips"
------------------------------------------------
Through another VT-er,Rabbityama I got some infos about this temple:
This is Shinko-in Temple, it is famous for its thousands of Jizo statues
and is part of the 88 Temples of the Settsu pilgrimage route !
Thanks a lot for these infos !

Subways

by FamousWorldTraveller

The Osaka subway is easy to use. Ticket purchase is simple to figure out, and the local Japanese will quickly help you if you look totally lost. Everything is in English and Japanese, and the route maps are simple to follow. It's a dream.

Not so easy once you come OUT of the subway and try to navigate the streets, however, so find a subway stop as close as possible to your ultimate destination.

Gourmet All-you-can-eat (and drink!)

by Hewer about Nikko Hotel Buffet

The Nikko Hotel buffet is a culinary experience not to be missed.

It is open from 5:30pm until 10:30pm every night.

Reservations are strongly recommended on the weekend. Use the number below, they speak English.

Cost: 3500 yen for dinner plus 1500 if you wish to add unlimited drinks. There is no time limit as in some other Osaka buffet restaurants. It is an international buffet featuring lobster, steak, prawns, lamb dishes, a big selection of salads and Japanese dishes, as well as desserts. You can also help yourself to an international wine selection, local beer, as well as spirits. It`s a self-serve situation so you pour your own cocktails.

Sorry, I don`t have a picture of the buffet but here is my customer loyalty card!-)

Architecture

I didn't check statistics but probably Osaka is a high rank city with skyscrapers. Hanging around in this city you will see many of them and this one is one of my favourites with its shape and colours.

Nippon Bashi (Den Den town)

by rmiya84778

Electrical goodies galore, gadgets, computers,
televisions, DVD players, phones, etc, etc!! You can find just about anything electrical related here, NEW and USED.

UPDATE: JANUARY 2002. In Umeda, there is a NEW Electronics place in one location called Yodobashi. Nipon Bashi area has many problems with homeless people and
this may effect some business. (just my observation of what I saw) My friends from Osaka tell me many people now would rather go to Umeda to avoid this.

UPDATE: JANUARY 2004. There is now NEW Shopping/Theme Park area nearby that just opened recently. I did not get chance to see this but picked up brochure. Located right next to Nankai Station. As soon as I gather more information and photos, I will write about this.
