This is not a cultural tip, just a reminder to allpassengers and first time visitors to Kansai/Osaka area. When departing Kansai Airport, after you get your boarding pass, you must purchase PSFC-Passenger Service Facilities Charge and present at the customs inspection
area. This is a ticket you get from vending machine and is a must have before boarding.
I was told first time I visited by my friends in Osaka that is an airport tax. Most countries have this.
This is not mentioned in travel books?
UPDATE-2002. When you get your plane ticket at Airline using,(check-in) they now sell you the PSC ticket. No need to buy from vending machine anymore.
Same price.
