Business Domain! Walking distance for bars too!

For the most part, people would tend to say that a Hilton is a Hilton. A chain is a chain. Well, I was highly impressed with the Osaka Hilton's team. They were personably reserved. Professional. Organized. Neat.

The building was impeccably clean. Try your own white glove test.

Rooms were highly basic. Nothing to be impressed with. But, I appreciated that they didn't have a lot of clutter. A bit Spartan by design but yet a quality touch of comfort. These aren't rooms to lounge. The purpose appears to be to rest then keep moving.

Housekeeping team were extremely proud of their work. They should be. They were amazing.

The main restaurant brunch was more than worth it. I enjoyed the diversity of hotel occupants kibitzing over breakfast. Fresh. Clean. Tons of attendants constantly on the move.

    Unique Quality: Accommodations:
    > Bed- Very comfortable with light bedding materials.
    > Room- Spartan! Not for lounging.
    > Room temperature- Difficulty getting as warm as I wanted.
    > Lobby- Open.
    > Reservationist- Pleasant and timely.
    > Housekeeping- Thorough and full of pride (well-deserved)
    > Decor- Not too impressive.
    > Build architecture- Doesn't stand out.
    > Airport- Easily accessible via train / subway or taxi
    > Roads- Smooth. No potholes!
    > Weather- Varies. Check the Weather Channel.
    > Restaurant- Ok.
    > Food- Only had brunch but was impressed.
    > Location- If you're a walker then you can have a good time. I walked a number locations for about 4 to 5 hours each day in different directions.
    > Bar scene- Didn't make it there. Too many other options around the corner. Loved this little (second floor) Jazz joint which was smaller than my Master Bedroom. The owner knew here Jazz (which reminded me that I had a lot to learn!)

Directions: I took the train from the airport. Hotel's easily accessible from the subway / commuter train.

    Hilton Osaka

This Hilton Plaza is situated just by the Osaka station. It can be very convenience to who ever need to be close to the station. I was almost booking this hotel for our stay but in the end I selected alternative choice which was much cheaper but was good enough for out needs.

  • Nice location for the Hilton Osaka

Clean, small rooms. The view from rooms (I have stayed on both sides of the hotel) is bad, though it's little nicer towards the round brown building.

Location is good, though. Near the Osaka station, which connects to the KIX airport, Shin-Osaka (for bullet trains to Tokyo etc) and also near post office. Stamps and postcards are not easy to find in Japan so it's good to mention here.

The JPY 2800's breakfast was good mix of western/japanese style, I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Efficient service, but english is not spoken well by all the employees. Nevertheless, we had no problems even while not knowing a word of japanese..at least that well. :-)

Business centre offered 30 minutes of internet for JPY 500.

Hotel offers shuttle bus service to the KIX airport at a cost of JPY 1300. Be sure to buy the ticket before check-out if you want to pay with credit card so they add it to the bill.

Rates start JPY 20-30k per room / 2 persons.

Unique Quality: Indoor pool, small gym for JPY 2100

    Luxury shops

Many restaurants (six, seven?) with all the styles and prices.

Internet on the lobby / Business room JPY 500, 30 mins

    Friendly service

Directions: VERY near the Osaka (not SHIN-OSAKA) station! You will see the hotel from the train! Warning, pack light, as the station is always VERY CROWDED.

Stay in a Western style hotel

For non smokers Japanese hotels bite. The staff sometimes tell you that they can give you a non-smoking room but, in truth they just give you whatever room is available.

You're better off paying a little more and staying in a western style hotel. Not only do the staff tend to speak English but if you insist on it, you can usually get a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor.

Unique Quality: In Osaka, I stayed at the Hilton located only a few minutes from the station. I had both a beautiful day and night view from my room.

by acommon1 about Hilton Hotel - Osaka

Well, when I arrived to the hotel, I didn't expect much especially after being spoil from quality service receive while in Southeast Asia. This hotel was easy to find. Checking in was smooth. Felt welcomed (or as welcomed as a Japanese reservationist) can make you feel in a very reserved manner.

Though I consider the place sort of Spartan in it's interior design, every thing that they had fit as if it belonged exactly where it was. All the furniture was modern with quality tapestry with metallic subtle presence.

Seem a bit cool. But, then, the Bellmen stepped in to sweep up my luggage. They do what they do because it is their job. In the USA, our Bellmen jump for your luggage because their trying to generate a maximum number of tips during their shift. The Japanese Bellmen were not phased and actually turned down tips at time. Of course, I pressed them to take it which later I learned that this probably isn't the thing to do. The room had just the right amount of furniture. Though small, it had a feeling of roominess. Loved the low beds. I slept like a baby especially after a little partying around the town.

At the Hilton- Osaka, you have city view. Really lights up at night.

Loved the breakfast. All the seafood. This was my "FIRST SEAFOOD" breakfast. While at breakfast, I ended up meeting a set of musical entertainers from New York. A gospel group. They we very welcoming too. Great to see my "pepps" traveling beyond the USA borders. They shared with me how the Japanese people appreciated American music (which did include our religious music).

Loved the hotel's location to the back street small shops, neighborhood bars, and subway.
