Holiday Inn Nankai aka Riva Nankai Hotel
The hotel lobby was pretty small, however, the service rendered by their staff more than made up for it..!
The room was quite spacious and I was surprised that they do provide toothbrush kits. Even when I was staying in Renaissance Hotel (4 star) in Kuala Lumpur, they did not provide the toothbrush kit.
There is a 100-Yen shop and a 24hr convenient shop located at the basement outside the hotel.
The nearest subway station is just 3 mins away.

Dotonbori River, just around the corner...
Well, it's not the 'cheapest' hotel around Osaka, but sure is nice to know the staff speaks quite good English... a very nice place around great neighbourhood, for shopping-for cheap or expensive things, you name it. Also, it's close to a shopping arcade, with great place for food, souvenirs, etc.
Unique Quality: Decent enough on the inside. Just bring a buddy or two, so to share the costs... a friend of mine (a girl) took the bed... wish I were traveling with another guy though, so at least, he and I can share the bed together, and I wouldn't have to sleep on the sofa! Ouch.
